Deuteronomy 11:2 : Know this day the things that your children know not, who saw not the chastisements of the Lord your God, his great doings and strong hand, and stretched out arm,
Job 5:17 : Blessed is the man whom God correcteth: refuse not, therefore, the chastising of the Lord.
Psalm 50:17 : Seeing thou hast hated discipline: and hast cast my words behind thee.
Ephesians 6:4 :And you, fathers, provoke not your children to anger: but bring them up in the discipline and correction of the Lord.

Shall we not much more obey the Father of spirits and live? 10 And they indeed for a few days, according to their own pleasure, instructed us: but he, for our profit, that we might receive his sanctification. 11 Now all chastisement for the present indeed seemeth not to bring with it joy, but sorrow: but afterwards it will yield to them that are exercised by it the most peaceable fruit of justice.
Revelation 3:19 : Such as I love, I rebuke and chastise. Be zealous therefore and do penance.
